Police in Southington, Connecticut said investigators are continuing to investigate three recent incidents in shops in towns and cities-one of which the police said may be related to theft in other areas.

The Wallingford Police released the still images from the BJ store theft video reported on October 18.

Southington-Police say they are investigating a series of recent store thefts, at least one of which is believed to be related to a group captured in a viral video of shoplifting across the state.

The police said that just before 8pm on November 7th, the three people walked into BJ's on Spring Street together and left with multiple TV sets and sound bars without paying.

Police said employees reported seeing three men walking towards the door in a car equipped with TVs and other electronic devices. Police said that when an employee tried to stop the people, they walked faster, left the store, and got into a golden Honda Odyssey parked outside the front door. The police indicated that these people may be related to thefts in other BJ shops.

The police said the same group is believed to be behind the theft in at least a dozen cities in Connecticut, including the unscrupulous daylight theft at a grocery store in Oxford on November 9. An eyewitness captured the group of people in the video as an Odyssey minivan and an SUV with washing powder and paper towels, and then drove away.

"BJ's crimes are definitely related," Southington police spokesman Lt. Keith Egan said. He said that the police are still investigating whether the theft that occurred in Stop & Shop on November 9 was also related to the same crew member, but it is not clear from the surveillance video that the suspect was wearing a mask.

The state police said that the identities of two of the four suspects have been initially confirmed. State police have stated that both vehicles believed to be used for the theft were stolen.

Police said the group was captured by cameras in Wallingford a few weeks ago. According to the police, a caller reported that two men and a woman had stolen several televisions and mounted them on the back of a waiting minivan and a tan Chevrolet Suburban-both of which were related to the same group. Matches the description of other events.

The police said that in the Wallingford theft, a store employee was attacked, but there was no obvious injury.

The police said: "When the suspect broke away from his hand with his fist, the clerk tried to regain control of one of the stolen TV sets."

Wallingford police estimated the value of the three TV sets to be approximately US$3,300. Wallingford Police said they are "cooperating with several other law enforcement agencies" in handling the case.

The incident was also filmed by a person on the scene, and the video was posted on social media. The police have distributed stills of the suspect in the video.

Southington police said they are also investigating two other shoplifting incidents that occurred last week.

According to the police, at about 12:40 pm on November 7, a blonde woman wearing a gray sweatshirt, black tights and glasses threatened to "stab" an employee of ShopRite Queen Street with a needle.

According to the police, a store employee saw the woman put the items in the shopping cart, did not pay at the checkout, and then walked out of the store. The employee confronted the woman, which the police said led to a "tug-of-war" around the shopping cart. Police said that during the fight, the woman pulled out a hypodermic needle and threatened to stabb him if he did not let go. The police said the employee was able to get the trolley and the woman ran away.

Police said that shortly before noon on November 9, two men and a woman entered Stop & Shop on North Street and tried to remove tissues and baby diapers from the store, but did not pay.

The police said that when the group left with a trolley full of items, a store manager asked if they would pay. Police said one of the men pushed the manager, who fell and hit the ground. The police said the manager was injured but refused to seek medical attention. The group took off in a blue van without plates. The police said that shortly after, the police found the van on Meriden Avenue and tried to pull it over, but the driver speeded up and the police did not pursue it.
